| The stock block will be "stressed" at the higher rwhp and the durability will be jeopardized. Years ago, I lost a piston due to detonation at 18psi on 93 octane in near 90 degree weather .. cold weather was no problem ... I had all the basic upgrades at the time and a brand new OEM engine from Nissan ( had like 20k on her ). I think if I had a built engine with the ported water jackets this would not have happenned. Now, with a good tune, larger turbo, and a built motor, I boost significantly more in the same weather. I recommend saving the money on a new OEM motor and buying a built motor from Kyle@ IPP. Even if you have problems Kyle will sell his family to help out. I have purchased two engines from Kyle over the years for two different Z's and I have no compliants ... best money ever spent pratically. Whoever is recommending you to buy an OEM on sport 700's probably is planning for some repeat business from you down the road for a motor job ( especially w/crappy California gas )
